Christina' Interview With Johnnie Dee

johnnielt.jpg

On March 1st 2002 Yours truly ( Canadianrose) had a dream come true when I got to do a phone interview with Johnnie Dee lead singer of honeymoon suite for my website.

Before you all start reading the interview I did with him I'd like to say thank you to Johnnie for allowing me to have the opportunity to speak with him. What can I say about you other than your a really great guy and I really appreciated the time you took to talk to me.

These are the questions that I asked Johnnie so sit back and relax and read the answers to the questions we all wanted to know.

CS: "What has been the most memorable part of your music career?"
JD: " We toured alot with big named bands , the whole career has been memorable! Can't just choose one thing"

CS : " What are your real feelings about the fans?"
JD: "They are the best and keep us going and are the most important thing!"

CS: " What advice would you give young people wanting to get into the music business?"
JD:" It's not really advice but,if they really want to do it they should just go do it! If they don't want it that much they might as well be sitting behind a desk somewhere!"

CS: " Who are your musical influences?"
JD: " Greg Lake , Ian Hunter and Peter Gabriel!"

CS: " Out of all of your songs which one is your ultimate favourite to perform live?"
JD: " Too many to choose, all of our songs are our babies!"

CS : "If you had to choose which aspect of your career you would want to change what would it be?"
JD: " Live somewhere where there's no snow! The winter weather holds you back when you have to travel and it's hard on the voice!"

CS : " How do you think the music business has changed since you first started out?"
JD: " It goes in a cycle , when we started out in the 80's our style of music was big and happening, then grunge came out on the scene and our style of music faded into the background!"

CS:"Do you think the change in the band line up has changed the sound of your music?"
JD:" No the guys fit in like a glove, if anything it makes it better!"

CS: "What are your pet peeves?"
JD:"The same people in the front row night after night. Some people take you the wrong way! Like the show we did in Hamilton last summer! We had two shows to do that day and they think your being an a$$hole when you don't have time to say hello to them!"

CS : " Which one of your videos is your fave ?"
JD : " I hate videos! I'm not an actor so I don't really like doing videos! Looking out for number one is my favourite one though"

CS: " One of the girls from the lounge wanted to know when you and the guys will be playing in Texas!"
JD: " Soon enough ! Depends on when we have the tour all planned out "

CS : " What have been the stupidest questions and interviewer or a fan has ever asked you?"
JD: " It's not really a stupid question !Where did you get the name honeymoon suite? I'm from Niagara falls so you'd think they'd know!"

CS: "With the internet so popular these days how come you don't have a computer?"
JD: " Wow that's the best question I've been asked in ages! I'm single , but settled , but I don't know where I want to live! I can't take a lap top around with me everywhere! But I will eventually get one!"

CS : "I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but one of the girls wanted to know what animal is your favourite! And why?"
JD: "I don't think it's a stupid question! My dog Henry!I don't have him anymore! I know where he is but I can't see him!"

CS: "How do you see yourself as a person.......... not how the media or the fans perceive you to be, but how you see yourself as a person?"
JD : " Very nice person, cranky, easily offended some things bug me!"

CS : "What inspires you and the guys to write the songs that you do?"
JD : " Every day life! We are inspired by everything that is going on at the time!"

CS: " Ok! This is the last question! What can the fans expect from you next?"
JD: " Hopefully they'll like this record! We may not have a Grammy or anything, but
we're still out there playing and hopefully we'll deliver a professional show that the fans will enjoy!"
